Samantha Schrantz Takamori

Samantha graduated from the University of Oregon with a Master of Science in Psychology in Spring 2025. As part of her graduate studies, she completed a research paper exploring the potential of psilocybin as a treatment for PTSD. For the past six years, Samantha has worked as a criminal defense investigator, primarily advocating for individuals who are unable to afford legal representation and specializing in complex felony cases, including murder defense. Through this work, she has had the privilege of sitting alongside people during some of the most difficult chapters of their lives. These experiences deepened her commitment to approaching each person with compassion, curiosity, and non-judgment. Prior to her work in criminal defense, Samantha served as a residential direct support professional in a secure psychiatric treatment facility for youth experiencing significant mental health challenges. During this time, she earned her designation as a Qualified Mental Health Associate (QMHA). Across each chapter of her career, Samantha has been drawn to the same purpose: making sure to create spaces where people feel seen, heard, and supported as they navigate pain, healing, growth, and transformation through a trauma-informed lens. Her approach is rooted in the belief that every person has their own unique path, and that meaningful change begins through safety, connection, and compassionate presence.
